Born May 26, 1996, in Lagos, Nigeria, as the first of three sons in a family of five. A culinary journey shaped by educator parents, rooted in Nigerian tradition, elevated by modern innovation, and dedicated to sharing the rich flavors and stories of West African cuisine with the world.

My Culinary Journey
From the bustling markets of Lagos to international kitchens, my path has been guided by a deep respect for tradition and an unwavering commitment to culinary excellence.
Born on May 26, 1996, in Lagos, Nigeria, as the first of three sons in a family of five, my culinary journey was shaped by the influence of my parents, both educators, who instilled in me a strong work ethic and passion for learning. As the eldest son, I spent countless hours in the kitchen with my mother, learning the basics of cooking and farming, while also helping with her small ice cream business—experiences that laid the foundation for my future in the culinary industry.
My path wasn't always straightforward. After studying Economics and Mathematics at Micheal Otedola College of Education, I continued at Yaba College of Technology studying Accounting part-time, balancing academics with my growing passion for culinary arts. During my first year at Yaba Tech, I was invited to assist at an event making ice cream—my exceptional performance quickly earned me a reputation as a go-to person for culinary events.
By late 2015, I was employed as a kitchen assistant and procurement officer at a restaurant within the University of Lagos campus. My dedication led to rapid promotions: sous chef in 2016, then head chef in 2017. After graduating with an Upper Credit in Accounting in 2018, I fulfilled my dream of opening Purple Bistro on March 20, 2019. Despite facing significant challenges, including a forced closure and a personal tragedy involving a robbery that left me with gunshot wounds on both arms, my resilience shone through. After a four-month recovery, I relaunched Purple Bistro in March 2020 with investor support.
Throughout my 11-year career, I have cooked and supervised meals for over 45,000 guests. By 2021, my brand gained significant recognition, hosting private dining events for international and local celebrities. In 2022, I expanded with a new restaurant in Lekki Phase 1, and in 2023, I was signed as a Brand Ambassador for Knorr—marking a significant milestone in my journey to elevate Nigerian cuisine on the global stage.
